The Structure of Creative Aging in Nyack

Creative Aging in Nyack (CAN) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization. The operational management of CAN is the responsibility of the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors consists of:
The Chair and CEO
An Associate Chair
A Treasurer
A Secretary
Chairs of the Care Team, Program Team, and Membership Teams
A Director at Large

Committees of the Board
Executive Committee
Finance Committee
Standing Committees
There are three standing committees. They are the Care Team, the Program Team, and the Membership Team.
  • The Care Team is responsible for assisting members with health related situations following an injury, or while a member is recuperating post hospitalization, etc. Members of the Care Team can arrange for Certified Drivers to take members to medical appointments.

  • The Program Team is responsible for developing the programs that CAN presents for its members every other Friday afternoon either in the Community Room of the Nyack Library, or on Zoom. The team arranges for the information and activities that help keep our members informed, engaged, and healthy.

  • The Membership Team is responsible for welcoming all new members, supporting current members, assisting in the formation of Small Groups, and promoting the activities of the non-medical volunteers (CAN Do Volunteers).

The members of the Board and the teams are listed on the Committees page of this website.
