Volunteers
In this all-volunteer organization, members may enjoy the benefits of giving and/or receiving help. Many of our members volunteer to provide support for others in medical as well as non-medical situations. In addition, they may serve on the Board, become Certified Drivers, serve on the Program or Membership Team or help in many other ways. Members who start a Small Group or host a Potluck meal are also valuable CAN volunteers.
CAN Volunteers Help in Medical Situations: CAN Care Coordinators assign Care Specialists to assess members' needs and arrange for volunteers to meet those needs that are within the scope of CAN’s limitations. CAN Care Specialists have volunteered to assist members with health related situations following an injury, or while recuperating post hospitalization, etc. At times, Care Specialists will coordinate with Certified Drivers and CAN Do Volunteers to arrange getting the member to and from medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other needs. Certified Drivers: Our team of volunteer Certified Drivers are used for getting to and from medical appointments. To become a driver one is required to provide a copy of their driver's license, their drivers' insurance card and allow Creative Aging to do a routine DMV background check. CAN Do Volunteers also provide meals for those homebound by illness. Help for Members – Lists of Volunteers
