Volunteers
Many of our members volunteer to provide support in medical and non-medical situations.
Support in Medical Situations: A group of CAN members have volunteered to assist members with health related situations following an injury, or while recuperating post hospitalization, etc. The group is led by two Care Coordinators who train the Care Specialists. Care Specialists assess members' needs and arrange for volunteers to meet those needs that are within the scope of CAN’s limitations. At times, they will coordinate with certified drivers and other volunteers to arrange getting the member to and from medical appointments, grocery shopping and other needs. To learn more about our volunteer program, read the Volunteer Handbook (see the button under the photo). Non-Medical Support: We have volunteers to help with gardening and plant care, walking dogs, friendly "cup 'o tea" home visits, or computer and technology support. Members seeking non-medical support will find a list of volunteers on the section of this website that is for members only and requires a login and password |
