Many of our members are also volunteers. Our volunteers provide support in medical and non-medical situations.
We have volunteers to help with gardening and plant care, walking dogs, friendly "cup 'o tea" home visits, or computer and technology support. Members seeking non-medical support will find a list of volunteers on the section of this website that is for members only and requires a login and password.
Support in Medical Situations:
Members facing a temporary medical crisis benefit from drivers who take them to medical appointments or volunteers to help with grocery shopping. Members who need help because of a medical issue should call either Dorothy Whitton at c: 845-323-5171 or Marie Thorpe at c: 845-367-1328 or h: 845-398-3522. Dorothy and Marie and the Care Coordinators. They will contact a volunteer who is a Care Specialist, a person who is trained to connect other volunteers to your situation.
If you would like to be a volunteer, contact Susan Travis, Chair of Volunteers and Services, at firstname.lastname@example.org. To learn more about our volunteer program, read the Volunteer Handbook.
