Certified Drivers for CAN

NEW: Usually when a CAN Certified Driver takes a CAN member to a medical appointment, that driver does not go into the doctor’s office. But some of our Certified Drivers have been trained as Medical Note-Takers! You have the option of having a trained note-taker in the room with you when you meet with the doctor.

Certified drivers with an asterisk * after their names have been trained as Medical Note-Takers. A medical note-taker may come into the doctor's office with you to be an extra pair of ears and to provide you with their notes after the visit. All of the drivers listed here have clean, safe driving records according to the New York Department of Motor Vehicles.

As a member of CAN, you may call a volunteer driver to set up a ride when you need a ride to a medical appointment in Rockland County or northern New Jersey. Please make your arrangements with the driver at least two days ahead of your appointment. 

You need to be able to get in and out of the vehicle without assistance. Be aware that you may not pay or tip the volunteer driver.
